    Hazardous Area Equipment

Sourced and supplied across Saudi Arabia

This page is the offshore overlay rather than an introduction to hazardous area equipment — for protection concepts, zones, gas groups and temperature classes see our explosion-proof enclosures page. What offshore adds is a second set of requirements that catches people out on a first package. Salt-laden air attacks enclosures and fasteners continuously, so restricted-copper aluminium alloys, 316 stainless and an operator-specified coating system become normal rather than an upgrade. Material may have to satisfy the marine or classification requirements of the installation alongside the Ex certificate, which is a separate approval with its own lead time. And there is a constraint no catalogue mentions: everything arrives by crane through a limited weather window, so lifted weight and dimensions are design inputs, and a package that cannot be lifted in one piece has to be split before it is built.

What to state in your enquiry

The more of this you send, the closer the first quotation lands.

Ambient temperature rangeThe certificate is issued for a stated range
Corrosion categorySalt-laden atmosphere — it drives material and coating selection
