Most ball bearing enquiries are replacements, and for those the fastest route to a correct offer is the designation stamped on the old one plus the two suffixes that follow it. The base number gives the bore, the series and the type; the suffixes give the seal or shield arrangement, the internal clearance and the cage, and those are what decide whether the replacement behaves like the original. Internal clearance is the one to get right — a bearing on a shaft that runs hot, or one with an interference fit on the inner ring, loses clearance in service, and a standard C0 bearing where the machine was built for C3 can end up preloaded and fail early for no visible reason. Say how the bearing is loaded, too. Deep groove types take radial load and modest axial load; angular contact types are built for a combination and are often used in pairs, where the arrangement matters as much as the part number.
