    Intrusion Detection

Sourced and supplied across Saudi Arabia

Perimeter detection is a different discipline from alarming a building, because the sensor is outdoors in weather, wildlife and wind, and the whole design is a trade between catching everything and crying wolf. The measures that matter are probability of detection, nuisance alarm rate and the ability to locate where the event happened along a long fence, and a system that scores well on the first and badly on the second gets switched off by the people who have to answer it. Technology follows the boundary. Fence-mounted sensors detect climbing and cutting and depend entirely on the fence being taut and well maintained. Buried cable is invisible and unaffected by wind but needs civils. Microwave barriers cover open ground between posts and want a clear, level sterile zone. In this region, blown sand, thermal expansion of fence fabric through the day, and camels or stray dogs are the recognised nuisance sources, so state them.
