Timber arriving in this climate is going to lose moisture, and how much it loses decides whether it stays where it was fixed. Wood shrinks as it dries towards equilibrium with its surroundings, and the equilibrium in a dry air-conditioned interior is low — so material delivered wet and fixed immediately opens joints, cups and pulls fixings as it dries out over the following weeks. The answer is to specify a moisture content on delivery suited to the end use and to let the material acclimatise under cover before it is fixed, and both belong in the order rather than in the snagging list. Two more points. Anything in contact with the ground or in a warm humid space needs preservative treatment, and termites are a real consideration for permanent timber here. And for formwork ply the number to compare is not the sheet price but the number of pours it will give with the face still acceptable.
