These are temporary works, which means the design matters as much as the equipment and the two are bought together. Scaffold is specified by the duty it must carry, the height and the tie arrangement into the structure, and a system scaffold is only as good as the drawing and the competent person who checks it — a system bought without the design and the inspection regime is components rather than access. Formwork is governed by the pressure the wet concrete exerts on the face, and that pressure is not a fixed number: it rises with the rate of pour and falls as the concrete stiffens, so a high ambient that accelerates set actually reduces the peak pressure while shortening the time available to place. Both effects belong in the calculation rather than being taken from a table. State the pour heights and rates, the finish required on the concrete face, and how many uses the panels must give.
