Building water supply is sized on simultaneous demand rather than on the number of outlets, and that is what makes a booster set specification different from a pump specification. A tower with two hundred apartments never runs two hundred taps at once, so the set is chosen against a probable peak, and the pressure vessel absorbs the small draws so the pumps are not started and stopped every time somebody washes their hands. A set without adequate vessel volume short-cycles, and short-cycling is what wears out contactors and motors long before the impellers see anything. Storage has its own considerations here. Water sitting in a roof tank through a Gulf summer gets warm enough to matter for both comfort and hygiene, so insulation, a light external finish and a lid that actually seals against dust and vermin are not luxuries. State the building, the demand and whether storage is at ground level, on the roof, or both.
