A face shield is secondary protection, and treating it as primary is the mistake that shows up in incident reports. EN 166 and ANSI/ISEA Z87.1 both expect a shield to be worn over glasses or goggles, not instead of them: the visor protects the face, the eyewear behind it protects the eyes. The other specification that gets skipped is the window itself — polycarbonate for impact, acetate for better chemical resistance, and a defined shade where the work involves radiant heat. State the process, and name the helmet if the shield mounts to one.
The more of this you send, the closer the first quotation lands.
