    Armored Cables

Sourced and supplied across Saudi Arabia

Armour is bought for one of two jobs and the choice of armour follows from which. If the job is mechanical protection — direct burial, a yard where vehicles cross, a route exposed to impact or rodents — then steel wire armour on a multicore cable is the usual answer, and the armour also gives a robust earth path. If the cable is single-core on an AC circuit, steel wire is the wrong answer: a magnetic armour around a single phase conductor induces circulating current and heats, which is why single-core cables use aluminium wire armour or a non-magnetic braid instead. That distinction is the most common specification error on this line and it does not announce itself at installation. Beyond it, the glanding needs to be settled with the cable: the gland is what makes the armour an effective earth, and an armoured cable ordered without the matching glands and shrouds is a delivery that cannot be terminated.

What to state in your enquiry

The more of this you send, the closer the first quotation lands.
