Structured cabling is bought as a channel, not as a reel, and the number that governs it is the 100 metre channel with a 90 metre permanent link — an installer who runs 105 metres has built something no category rating applies to. Two decisions then follow. Category first: Cat6A is what supports 10 gigabit over the full distance where Cat6 does not, and the honest question is whether the link will be re-used for a decade rather than what today's switch needs. Screening second: unscreened cable is fine in a quiet office riser, and screened F/UTP or S/FTP earns its cost in a plant area running alongside drives and heavy power — but only if the screen is bonded properly at the patch panel, since an unearthed screen is worse than none. Add one Gulf-specific point: Power over Ethernet heats a bundle, and a tightly packed bundle in an unconditioned riser will run hotter than the rating assumed.
The more of this you send, the closer the first quotation lands.
