Connectors fail at the gate, not the spine, so the gate opening and the locking action are the specification β not the shape. A screwgate relies on the user closing it; a twist-lock or triple-action gate closes itself, which is why they are specified where compliance cannot be supervised. Gate opening has to be checked against the anchor it will clip: a standard carabiner will not pass over scaffold tube or large structural eyes, and a scaffold hook is needed instead.
The more of this you send, the closer the first quotation lands.
