A plumbed eyewash unit is specified by what it must sustain, not by what it looks like on the wall: 1.5 litres per minute delivered to both eyes for fifteen minutes under ANSI/ISEA Z358.1, in a soft aerated stream that a casualty can hold their eyes open in. Two things decide whether the installed unit meets that. The first is reach — the standard expects the equipment to be accessible within about ten seconds of the hazard, on the same level and without a door or an obstruction in the way, which usually settles the position before any product is chosen. The second is what comes out of the line first. A branch that is only used during weekly testing accumulates sediment and stagnant water, and dust caps that keep the nozzles clean between activations are not an accessory here. Say whether you need an eyewash or an eye/face wash, and whether it is bench, wall or pedestal mounted.
