An outdoor enclosure in this region has two enemies and buyers usually specify against only one. The first is ingress, and an IP66 rating handles it. The second is heat, and IP66 makes it worse: a sealed box in direct sun becomes an oven around the electronics inside it, and the internal temperature that matters is the one the components see, not the shade air temperature. The fix is chosen at order time — a sun shield or canopy with an air gap, a vortex cooler or air conditioner, a filtered fan set where the environment allows it, or simply a light finish and a north-facing position. The third decision is the shell. Painted mild steel is the default inland; on the coast at Dammam, Jubail or Ras Tanura, chloride-driven pitting makes 316 stainless or a marine-grade coating the honest specification, and 304 is the compromise that disappoints after a few years.
